Sharif Abd El Mawla is an Egyptian director, born and raised in Amsterdam.
His distinctive voice blends political awareness, surrealism, and dry, deadpan humour. Whether in commercials, music videos, short films or features, his work is defined by a rigorous approach to mise-en-scène, precise framing, and finely tuned performances.
His work has been recognised with multiple awards (Cannes Lions, Webby Awards, CICLOPE…). Following his debut feature Casting Call (2024) and the CBS series Bestseller Boy, he is currently developing his second feature film.
