Benjamin Parent

Benjamin Parent is a writer-director known for his sensitive approach to comedy, starting with his short film Ce n’est pas un film de cow-boys, which was selected for Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012 and nominated for the César Award for Best Short Film in 2013.

Before that, after studying film, he worked as a copywriter at La Chose, developing campaigns for Ikea, Mappy, Le Coq Sportif and Fnac.

He went on to co-write several stand-up shows with Thomas VDB, as well as numerous radio segments for France Inter, working both with VDB and with writer and actress Joséphine Draï.

For two years, he hosted 5 Minutes après le film, a film show he created for Konbini, in which he shared his immediate impressions of a movie straight after leaving the screening.

He then focused on directing and dialogue-driven comedy in advertising, working on campaigns for Pulco, Ford and Winamax, among others, while also exploring drama with a long-form project for 30 Millions d’Amis released in 2026.

For television, he co-created the series Les Grands with Joris Morio, which received strong critical recognition. In cinema, he collaborated with Hugo Gélin on the romantic comedy Mon Inconnue before writing and directing his first feature film, Un Vrai Bonhomme. Through his personal projects, he explores masculinity and the social pressures surrounding traditional ideas of manhood.
